They came to a nation full of dissension.

Found a girl with much apprehension.

She was crying so, in pain and distress

Cursing the world for her life oppressed

No family, no money, no one ever to care

No clothes, no friends, no magic so rare.

Unicorn advanced slowly and entered her space

Snuggled up close, used his nose to embrace

The little girl grabbed his mane, buried her head

And exclaimed, “Sometimes I wish I were dead!”

“Oh, no!” Unicorn cried, “Nothing on this earth

Could be so bad! Reach inside! Find your worth!”

The girl looked up and said, “Who are you?

I’ve never heard a horse talk, let alone be blue!”
